Punching Out Parkinson's

POP Santa Fe offers Rock Steady Boxing classes aimed at slowing the progression of Parkinson’s and improving quality of life.

There are ways in which people with Parkinson’s disease can enhance their daily quality of life and even build impressive power, strength, flexibility and speed! By exercising with certified Rock Steady Boxing coaches, you can fight your way out of the corner and start to feel and function better.

Why Boxing? Boxing is a workout for the whole body AND brain. It is the most demanding sport in terms of endurance, strength, power, speed, agility, and mental fortitude. It is also the safest if you never get in the ring against an opponent.

Boxing aligns well with the symptoms of Parkinson’s because it IS functional fitness! It requires big movements, balance, core strength, rhythm, and hand-eye coordination, which help improve range of motion, flexibility, posture, gait, leading to more ease with activities of daily living. Assessments have proven that anyone, at any level of Parkinson’s, can slow the progression of the disease and lead a healthier and happier life.
